Kelli started in Rock-a-Billy since she plays piano SIMILAR to Jerry Lee with her first recording with “Groovy” Joe Poovey from England. Then she headlined with “Mr. Action” Roy Moss who was the first to tag her “the Queen of Swing”. Roy had been very influential in helping Kelli with her Warner  Bros. German label, Eagle Records recording contract.

In return Kelli played and arranged 11 of the 18 cuts on Roy’s album, “Rockin’ Roy Moss” released by that same label.

In ‘98 Roy started a new CD when he became ill. Ten years after his death, Kelli decided to say thank you to her mentor. With the only 4 cuts he partially recorded,
Kelli finished the album with her own exciting Rock-a-Billy vocals, piano along with her signature left hand bassline . The CD received 5 STAR reviews from around the world.

The legendary "Mr. Action" Roy Moss,  had been a staple artist for Mercury Records in the 50's with hits: Wiggle Walkin' Baby; Corrine, Corrina; Yes Juanita's Mine; You's My Big Baby Now; You Don't Know My Mind and Mule Skinner Blues. Warner Bros. affiliate, Eagle Records wanted to re-release the Mercury recordings with new material added to it.
Roy solicited Kelli Grant, who had appeared on a show outside of Nashville with him to help. Kelli wrote the arrangements, played PIANO along with her signature unsurpassed lefthand BASS LINE. With the legendary guitarist, Johnny Patterson and Kelli's drummer, Jeff Ebner she completed the project on the remaining 11 of the cuts.

Roy once again contacted Kelli to release another CD in late 1997. With only 4 songs partially recorded Kelli took those pieces edited them together and mastered those into a complete and finished, excellent product showcasing Roy's magnificent Johnny Cash voice. The CD received 5 STARS.

Roy had left suddenly saying he was ill and didn't have enough air to sing like he wanted. He was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away 9 months later. Kelli and Johnny Patterson, his long time friends were at the funeral. The Only music played were the recordings with Mercury and the ones they had done together.

As a commemorative gesture to her mentor, Kelli achieved a monumental task by editing and piecing the 4 songs Roy had partially recorded. Another surprise to this COLLECTOR'S ALBUM is a LIVE CUT from one Kelli's show at the Isle of Capri featuring guitar legend, Johnny Patterson. She decided to include it once again to honor Roy and Johnny. She didn't realize it at the time she would be commemorating Johnny too. Sadly, Johnny passed away the year after the CD was released.

This is as very special collection of extraordinary talents combined in a priceless production. Kelli is a magnificent studio engineer as well as an awrd-winning Singer and  Texas State Musician Nominee.
